New Garbage Contract

As I mentioned in the June Newsletter, our existing solid waste & recycling contract recently expired and of course fuel prices did drive the cost up.  After reviewing multiple bids,  Mayor & Council decided to change vendors and selected Waste Company America or WCA to service Meadows Place.  WCA came highly recommended, had the lowest cost per homeowner and .... no fuel surcharge.  WCA will continue pick up on Tuesdays & Fridays. They start at 7:00 a.m. so you need to have your trash at the curb by then. Along with regular garbage and recycle pickup, WCA will pickup heavy trash every Friday! This will allow us to eliminate the annual "Heavy Trash Day" which is very costly.  There are some restrictions, but also some additional new services that you need to be aware of.  To learn more, click on ‘New Garbage Contract’ in the Meadows News.

Did You Know...

Did You Know… Medows Place is hosting CERT training?  CERT stands for Community Emergency Response Team. These 'Teams' are made of of CERT trained individuals that are able to respond to an emergency and/or help emergency responders following an event. CERT Trained Team Members are able to help save lives and property and are an asset to their community. For more info on CERT - go to www.fortbendcountycert.com or come by City Hall for a brochure. 

Parks and Recreation

The Parks and Recreation Department offers various programs throughout the year. Check out what is currently being offered at the Clubs and Programs page.

 Access to the pool and tennis courts are restricted via access cards. Click here for information on obtaining access cards for these facilities.

Meadows Place 25th Anniversary Bricks
 

Don’t miss out on this once in a lifetime opportunity! Bricks can now be purchased at Meadows Place Pool during normal business hours.  Lifeguards at the front gate table will be taking  orders   please make checks   payable to City of Meadows Place. Last day for  ordering bricks will be  August 31st!
