Mission Statement

The Meadows Place Police Department was created and exists to serve the citizens of, and visitors to, our community with respect, fairness, and compassion. We, the officers, are dedicated to the prevention of crime; the protection of life and property; the maintenance of law and order; the enforcement of laws and ordinances; and upholding the Constitutional rights of all those within our jurisdiction.

History

Concern for safety and the need for a Police Department was one of the main reasons that the City incorporated. Citizens banded together and formed this City so that they could have a Police Department that was uniquely "theirs"; responsive to this communities needs and a point of pride for the City. Since that time, the Meadows Place Police Department has played an integral part in the community.

The Department has 15 full time Officers and serves the community through patrol, traffic enforcement, investigations and community service. The Department serves the community 24 hours a day 7 days a week. The average length of service in this community of each Officer is just over 6 years. This is an extraordinary statistic for a small municipal department.

The Police Department is small but effective. Officers from this Agency have taken pride in proving the best law enforcement service possible for their community. Crime statistics remain low for the metropolitan area in which the department exists.

Training for officers is an ongoing process. Officers in this agency have graduated from the FBI National Academy, Department of Public Safety Academy, Houston Police Academy, Sam Houston State University, Stephen F. Austin University and all have received advanced training in law enforcement academies. The Department motto is “Improvise, Adapt, Overcome”.
