For the past few years, the City of Meadows Place Parks and Recreation Department has been looking to renovate our track, field, and pool area. We have recently installed 23 new bright and beautiful signs. The signs project is a parks grant project from Texas Parks and Wildlife. The installation of the signs completes phase I, II, and III in our city parks improvements. The signs provide a wide range of information. Some of the signs are mile markers for our frequent joggers to gauge how far they have run. Other signs provide information on the history of Meadows Place, a subdivision timeline, a history of McDonald Park and the development of Mark Graff Municipal Park, and the way in which the water and drainage system works. We even added a sign on how to stay Healthy and Safe. There is a new memorial area behind the field house. We have also added a few extra incentives for our city nature lovers to come on down to the park. We have recently installed a butterfly garden near the Meadows Elementary Playground area, a birding area near the city field house, and a hummingbird bush next to the baseball fields. Some of our city residents have recently witnessed huge hawks in flight around our parks and numerous butterflies resting in our butterfly garden. We created the signs for you, the citizens of Meadows Place, and we strongly encourage all city residents to come on down to the park and check out the new additions to our park area.
